Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2001 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Pastoral by William Beckwith McInnes. The price achieved of AUD 2,350.00 (€ 1,408.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beckwith McInnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Bathers in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 38,400.00 (€ 21,728.10).

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pastoral von William Beckwith McInnes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.350,00 (€ 1.408,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Beckwith McInnes erzielen.
