Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Farmyard Under Moonlight by William Beckwith McInnes. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 7,200.00 (€ 4,305.43), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Beckwith McInnes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian The Bathers in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 38,400.00 (€ 21,728.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Farmyard Under Moonlight von William Beckwith McInnes zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 7.200,00 (€ 4.305,43) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Beckwith McInnes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian The Bathers im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 38.400,00 (€ 21.728,10).
