Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work View from the Hill by William Beckwith McInnes. It changed hands for a price of AUD 1,410.00 (€ 790.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beckwith McInnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Bathers in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 38,400.00 (€ 21,728.10).

Im August 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit View from the Hill von William Beckwith McInnes zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 1.410,00 (€ 790,12) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Beckwith McInnes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian The Bathers im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 38.400,00 (€ 21.728,10).
