Despite a disappointment, a good price for William B. Post
When the work Selected Images by William B. Post was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,185.12). Despite this disappointing result, Selected Images is the most expensive artwork by William B. Post that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für William B. Post
Als die Arbeit Selected Images von William B. Post im April 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.185,12) den Besitzer.
