Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction Three Private Collections: Belgravia, Berkshire and Guernsey, which included the work Sportsmen in a wooded river landscape, a country house beyond by William Ashford. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Ashford have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View Of The Bridge At Charleville Castle, Tullamore, Co. Offaly, A Figure On The Bridge And Other Figures With A Dog Near The Water'S Edge in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 218,500.00 (€ 296,712.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Three Private Collections: Belgravia, Berkshire and Guernsey durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sportsmen in a wooded river landscape, a country house beyond von William Ashford zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 46.912,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Ashford auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A View Of The Bridge At Charleville Castle, Tullamore, Co. Offaly, A Figure On The Bridge And Other Figures With A Dog Near The Water'S Edge im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 218.500,00 (€ 296.712,50).
