Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by William Anastasi was sold in the The Collection of Edward Albee auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,581.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Anastasi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled III (Abandoned Painting) in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 242,500.00 (€ 186,023.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Anastasi wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion The Collection of Edward Albee bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.581,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Anastasi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled III (Abandoned Painting) im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 242.500,00 (€ 186.023,32).
