Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jeune femme à genoux, probablement Lady Bettine by William, 2nd Earl of Craven was sold in the PHOTOGRAPHIES COLLECTION D'UN AMATEUR auction at Christies in Paris in November 2002. The price achieved of EUR 1,762.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William, 2nd Earl of Craven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jeune femme, probablement Lady Evelyn Mary Craven sur les marches à Ashdown in November 2002 with an auction result of EUR 42,300.00.
