The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,929.36), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William, 2nd Earl of Craven - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jeune femme, probablement Lady Evelyn Mary Craven sur les marches à Ashdown, which sold at auction in November 2002 for EUR 42,300.00.
