In November 2015 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th CenturyArt - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work Watermolen Bij Meerkerk: The Watermill Near Meerkerk by Willem Roelofs. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,000.00 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Roelofs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer (Between Hilversum And Loosdrecht) in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 78,250.00.

Im November 2015 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th CenturyArt - (including Dutch Impressionism) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watermolen Bij Meerkerk: The Watermill Near Meerkerk von Willem Roelofs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.000,00 und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Roelofs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer (Between Hilversum And Loosdrecht) im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 78.250,00.
