Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stortbui: the approaching storm near Gouda by Willem Roelofs was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016. The price achieved of EUR 30,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Roelofs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Summer (Between Hilversum And Loosdrecht), which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 78,250.00.

Die Arbeit Stortbui: the approaching storm near Gouda von Willem Roelofs wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 30.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Roelofs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Summer (Between Hilversum And Loosdrecht) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 78.250,00 versteigert wurde.
