Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ballerina by Willem Dooijewaard was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 9,375.00 (€ 989.21). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Dooijewaard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Selling Fruits in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 4,360,000.00 (€ 426,795.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ballerina von Willem Dooijewaard im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 9.375,00 (€ 989,21) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Dooijewaard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman Selling Fruits im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.360.000,00 (€ 426.795,26).
