Sold at the lower estimate price
The work A North African Woman Reading by Willem Dooijewaard was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The result of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 23,535.85) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Dooijewaard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Selling Fruits in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 4,360,000.00 (€ 426,795.26).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit A North African Woman Reading von Willem Dooijewaard wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 23.535,85) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Dooijewaard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman Selling Fruits im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.360.000,00 (€ 426.795,26).
