In February 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Opkomende bui bij Middelaar by Willem Cornelis Rip. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,767.50 55% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Willem Cornelis Rip; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Molens bij Elshout sold at auction in January 2001 with the realized price of NLG 32,900.00 (€ 14,396.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Opkomende bui bij Middelaar von Willem Cornelis Rip zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.767,50 und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Willem Cornelis Rip; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Molens bij Elshout im Januar 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von NLG 32.900,00 (€ 14.396,40).
