In March 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A View Of Wouw by Willem Cornelis Rip. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,640.00 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Willem Cornelis Rip have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Molens bij Elshout in January 2001 with an auction result of NLG 32,900.00 (€ 14,396.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A View Of Wouw von Willem Cornelis Rip zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.640,00 und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Cornelis Rip auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Molens bij Elshout im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 32.900,00 (€ 14.396,40).
