Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Windmill In A River Landscape by Willem Cornelis Rip was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in March 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,140.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Cornelis Rip achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Molens bij Elshout in January 2001 with an auction result of NLG 32,900.00 (€ 14,396.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Windmill In A River Landscape von Willem Cornelis Rip im März 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.140,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Cornelis Rip erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Molens bij Elshout im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 32.900,00 (€ 14.396,40).
