In June 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES, which included the work The Gran Canal in Venice by Willem Alexander Knip. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,987.50 49% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Alexander Knip - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the St. Nicolaaskerk beyond, Amsterdam, which sold at auction in September 2012 for EUR 11,250.00.

Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Gran Canal in Venice von Willem Alexander Knip zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.987,50 und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Alexander Knip mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the St. Nicolaaskerk beyond, Amsterdam beobachtet, die im September 2012 für EUR 11.250,00 versteigert wurde.
