Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A Rocky Landscape by Willem Alexander Knip. It changed hands for a price of EUR 1,875.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem Alexander Knip have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the St. Nicolaaskerk beyond, Amsterdam in September 2012 with an auction result of EUR 11,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Rocky Landscape von Willem Alexander Knip zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Alexander Knip auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the St. Nicolaaskerk beyond, Amsterdam im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.250,00.
