Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Harbour Scene, Brittany by Will Ashton. The price achieved of AUD 5,400.00 (€ 3,229.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Will Ashton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian kosciusko, which sold at auction in August 2008 for AUD 21,600.00 (€ 12,608.96).
