Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Resting Crusader by Wilhelm Camphausen was sold in the British and Continental Pictures and Prints auction at Christies in London in May 2006. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 875.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilhelm Camphausen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Empress Maria Theresia on horseback inspecting Austrian troops in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 13,200.00.
