In June 2015 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work Portrait of the actor Ernst von Possart as Narcissus by Wilhelm Camphausen. The result of EUR 2,500.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Wilhelm Camphausen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Empress Maria Theresia on horseback inspecting Austrian troops in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 13,200.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2015 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the actor Ernst von Possart as Narcissus von Wilhelm Camphausen zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 2.500,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilhelm Camphausen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Empress Maria Theresia on horseback inspecting Austrian troops im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.200,00.
