The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,491.82), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wilhelm Camphausen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Empress Maria Theresia on horseback inspecting Austrian troops, which sold at auction in April 2007 for EUR 13,200.00.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.760,00 (€ 5.491,82) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Camphausen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Empress Maria Theresia on horseback inspecting Austrian troops beobachtet, die im April 2007 für EUR 13.200,00 versteigert wurde.
