Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Hit by Whitney Bedford was sold in the Contemporary Discoveries auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. It achieved a price of GBP 1,386.00 (€ 1,630.50), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Whitney Bedford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled Iceberg (Purple Floats), which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,320.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Hit von Whitney Bedford wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.386,00 (€ 1.630,50) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Für andere Arbeiten von Whitney Bedford mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled Iceberg (Purple Floats) beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.320,01) versteigert wurde.
