This artwork by Weng Fen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2012. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work On The Wall-Haikou No. 2 & No. 3 (Two Works) sold for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,089.84) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Weng Fen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Beautiful World-Bird Nest in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 39,832.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Weng Fen erzielte im April 2012 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit On The Wall-Haikou No. 2 & No. 3 (Two Works) für HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.089,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Weng Fen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Beautiful World-Bird Nest im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 39.832,54).
