In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Asian Contemporary Art Online: featuring the Chaney Family Collection, which included the work Bird's Eye View - Guangzhou by Weng Fen. The result of USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,680.95) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Weng Fen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Beautiful World-Bird Nest in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 39,832.54).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art Online: featuring the Chaney Family Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bird's Eye View - Guangzhou von Weng Fen zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.680,95) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Weng Fen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Beautiful World-Bird Nest im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 39.832,54).
