Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On The Wall – Haikou (5) by Weng Fen was sold in the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The price achieved of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,334.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Weng Fen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Beautiful World-Bird Nest in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 39,832.54).

Die Arbeit On The Wall – Haikou (5) von Weng Fen wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.334,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Weng Fen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Beautiful World-Bird Nest im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 39.832,54).
