This artwork by Wenda Gu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work Pseudo Character: Wind (Sky Dynasty Format #4-1) sold for HKD 937,500.00 (€ 87,193.58) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wenda Gu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Drama Of Two Culture Formats Merge C1-C3 (Three Works) in April 2012 with an auction result of HKD 3,980,000.00 (€ 387,801.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wenda Gu erzielte im April 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Pseudo Character: Wind (Sky Dynasty Format #4-1) für HKD 937.500,00 (€ 87.193,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wenda Gu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Drama Of Two Culture Formats Merge C1-C3 (Three Works) im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.980.000,00 (€ 387.801,04).
