Upper estimate price exceeded by 25 %.
The work Chang Shen by Wenda Gu was sold in the Contemporary Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2013. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 187,500.00 (€ 17,792.78), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wenda Gu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drama Of Two Culture Formats Merge C1-C3 (Three Works) in April 2012 with an auction result of HKD 3,980,000.00 (€ 387,801.04).
