Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Illuminate The Dark Night No. 4 by Wei Jia was sold in the Contemporary Art – Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 550,000.00 – 750,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 562,500.00 (€ 61,909.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wei Jia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nowhere to Escape IV in April this year with an auction result of HKD 720,000.00 (€ 735,260.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Illuminate The Dark Night No. 4 von Wei Jia wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Contemporary Art – Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 550.000,00 – 750.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 562.500,00 (€ 61.909,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wei Jia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nowhere to Escape IV im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 720.000,00 (€ 735.260,87).
