In October this year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Time Elapsed by Wei Jia. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 825,500.00 (€ 99,828.63), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wei Jia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nowhere to Escape IV in April this year with an auction result of HKD 720,000.00 (€ 735,260.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Time Elapsed von Wei Jia zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 825.500,00 (€ 99.828,63) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wei Jia auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nowhere to Escape IV im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 720.000,00 (€ 735.260,87).
