Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Urn With Fruits by Wee Shoo Leong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,268.59). Other works by Wee Shoo Leong have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2013 by the work Roses/ Cage With Cups And Flowers at HKD 81,250.00 (€ 7,710.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Urn With Fruits von Wee Shoo Leong im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.268,59) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Wee Shoo Leong wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2013 die Arbeit Roses/ Cage With Cups And Flowers mit HKD 81.250,00 (€ 7.710,20).
