Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Bride by Wang Yidong was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The price achieved of HKD 5,120,000.00 (€ 602,517.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Yidong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Teasing The Newlyweds, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 19,160,000.00 (€ 1,875,549.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Bride von Wang Yidong wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 5.120.000,00 (€ 602.517,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Yidong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Teasing The Newlyweds beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 19.160.000,00 (€ 1.875.549,82) versteigert wurde.
