Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spring Fan by Wang Yidong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,197,000.00 (€ 128,157.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Yidong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Teasing The Newlyweds in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 19,160,000.00 (€ 1,875,549.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Spring Fan von Wang Yidong kam im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.197.000,00 (€ 128.157,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Yidong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Teasing The Newlyweds im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 19.160.000,00 (€ 1.875.549,82).
