This artwork by Wang Yidong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in June 2020. In the Contemporary Art Asia: Kid at heART auction, the work A Letter from Afar;& Bride;& Lady in Bathing sold for HKD 21,250.00 (€ 2,440.79) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Yidong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Teasing The Newlyweds in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 19,160,000.00 (€ 1,875,549.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Yidong erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: Kid at heART wurde die Arbeit A Letter from Afar;& Bride;& Lady in Bathing für HKD 21.250,00 (€ 2.440,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Yidong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Teasing The Newlyweds im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 19.160.000,00 (€ 1.875.549,82).
