In March 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work Tiger Mountain by Wang Yabin. The auction ended at the price of USD 12,000.00 (€ 8,972.63), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Yabin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elephant Constellation, which sold at auction in October 2015 for HKD 236,000.00 (€ 27,571.09).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tiger Mountain von Wang Yabin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 12.000,00 (€ 8.972,63) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Yabin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elephant Constellation beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für HKD 236.000,00 (€ 27.571,09) versteigert wurde.
