This artwork by Wang Qingsong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work Prisoner sold for HKD 56,250.00 (€ 5,791.10) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Qingsong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Follow Me in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 550,449.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Qingsong erzielte im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Prisoner für HKD 56.250,00 (€ 5.791,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Qingsong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Follow Me im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 550.449,00).
