Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Night Revels Of Lao Li by Wang Qingsong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 100,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 400,000.00 (€ 37,202.60). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Qingsong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Follow Me in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 550,449.00).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Night Revels Of Lao Li von Wang Qingsong im April 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 100.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 400.000,00 (€ 37.202,60) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Qingsong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Follow Me im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 550.449,00).
