This artwork by Wang Duo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2006. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Poem In Cursive Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 1,320,000.00 (€ 132,586.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Duo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Duo erzielte im Mai 2006 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Poem In Cursive Script Calligraphy für HKD 1.320.000,00 (€ 132.586,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 700.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Duo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 32.020.000,00 (€ 2.864.337,79).
