Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Orchids by Wang Duo. It changed hands for a price of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 24,651.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 180,000.00 – 240,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Duo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Orchids von Wang Duo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 24.651,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 180.000,00 – 240.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Duo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 32.020.000,00 (€ 2.864.337,79).
