Sold at the upper estimate price
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Orchids And Rocks by Wang Duo. The auction ended at the price of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 32,869.03), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 250,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Duo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Orchids And Rocks von Wang Duo zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 32.869,03) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 250.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Duo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 32.020.000,00 (€ 2.864.337,79).
