Artwork auctioned at 26 times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy by Wang Duo was worth HKD 2,631,400.00 (€ 300,765.13) to a buyer in October 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II at POLY and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Wang Duo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Wang Duo war einem Käufer im Oktober 2019 HKD 2.631.400,00 (€ 300.765,13) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II bei POLY erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Duo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 32.020.000,00 (€ 2.864.337,79).
