The work Calligraphy in Cursive Script by Wang Duo was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. It achieved a price of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 72,488.43), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Duo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script von Wang Duo wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 72.488,43) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Duo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 32.020.000,00 (€ 2.864.337,79).
