Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mind Water No. 15 by Wang Chuan was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 94,500.00 (€ 10,466.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Wang Chuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beliefs in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 54,901.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mind Water No. 15 von Wang Chuan wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 94.500,00 (€ 10.466,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Chuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beliefs im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 54.901,21).
