Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Wang Chuan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 5,931.67). Admittedly, works by Wang Chuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beliefs in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 54,901.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Wang Chuan im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 5.931,67) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Chuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beliefs im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 54.901,21).
