Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection, which included the work 'Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada Ii' by Walter Niedermayr. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,102.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Niedermayr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada II - 1995, which sold at auction in October 2017 for EUR 23,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada Ii' von Walter Niedermayr zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.102,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Niedermayr mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada II - 1995 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für EUR 23.400,00 versteigert wurde.
