In the American Art auction, the work Sunlit Cottages by a River sold for USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,365.80) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Elmer Schofield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nearing Spring, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 181,000.00 (€ 116,323.91).

Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Elmer Schofield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nearing Spring beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 181.000,00 (€ 116.323,91) versteigert wurde.
