In March 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Village In Winter by Walter Elmer Schofield for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,233.57). This price was achieved in the auction American Art Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Elmer Schofield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nearing Spring in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 116,323.91).
