Auction result well in line with expectations
The work August Afternoon by Walter Elmer Schofield was sold in the American Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. The price achieved of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,600.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Elmer Schofield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nearing Spring in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 116,323.91).
