Auction result well in line with expectations
The work August Afternoon by Walter Elmer Schofield was sold in the American Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. The price achieved of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,600.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Elmer Schofield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nearing Spring in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 116,323.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit August Afternoon von Walter Elmer Schofield wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.600,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Elmer Schofield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nearing Spring im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 181.000,00 (€ 116.323,91).
