This artwork by Wahab Saheed achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Night After Valentine's Day sold for USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,876.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wahab Saheed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Actual Queen, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 81,900.00 (€ 72,561.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wahab Saheed erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Night After Valentine's Day für USD 35.280,00 (€ 32.876,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wahab Saheed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Actual Queen beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 81.900,00 (€ 72.561,35) versteigert wurde.
