The work Shadows of Yesterday by Wahab Saheed was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in June last year. It achieved a price of HKD 189,000.00 (€ 22,999.90), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wahab Saheed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Actual Queen, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 81,900.00 (€ 72,561.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Shadows of Yesterday von Wahab Saheed kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 189.000,00 (€ 22.999,90) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Für andere Arbeiten von Wahab Saheed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Actual Queen beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 81.900,00 (€ 72.561,35) versteigert wurde.
