It achieved a price of GBP 936.00 (€ 1,370.42), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by William Cheesman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A French bulldog, Millicent (The Duchess of Sutherland's first pet dog in the 1890s) in April 2021 with an auction result of GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,599.79).
